live curiously

My dearest future children,

“…acknowledge the God of your father and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

- 1 Chronicles 28:9

1) I truly do want a husband that is completely and devoted to God first. Someone that can lead me and our family into faithful and joyful obedience to God. Where my children and I will be delighted to be submissive and follow because he is so loving and sacrificing as was Christ was for His bride, the Church. We will love, because God first loved us.

2) May my children love God with their entire hearts, minds, bodies, souls, and strength; with a wholehearted devotion. Where out of their love for God, they are more than happy to worship Him in every action, every thought, and words that they say. Not because my husband or I say so, nor because that is what christians simply do. I pray that our family’s hearts will be willing and delighted to be a family of servants. That we will have a loving and encouraging environment where questions are welcomed and their own pursuit of God will be supported through our words and actions.

3) But, I also will not sugar coat things. The choice to be a christian is black and white; to live for God or not. I do not want my children to proclaim themselves as christians until they truly believe that Christ is their Savior & their lives are to be laid down everyday for God and others. If they choose to follow Christ, It will be their choice on their own accord; not mine, not my husband’s, not the Church, or anyone else.

4) I know my children will never be perfect or their faith. But I pray that God will help me unconditionally love them through every step and every season of their lives; all day and everyday, no matter what.
